have just released their web based ‘Next Generation Tour Operating Systems’ (NGTOS) in the UK.

NGTOS was developed to take advantage of the current technological platforms i.e. the Internet and Microsoft’s Windows based software products. Richard Parkes, Sales & Marketing Manager for Vinet Europe Ltd says ” We wanted to offer Tour Operators, Consolidators and Travel Agents a more affordable and user friendly method for developing both new and existing business with in their prospective markets.”

It has been said in the past that ” travel technology seemed to be a complicated necessity.” How true that statement was! What with the need for travel staff to understand unique and different commands for reservations/administration systems and then in certain cases having to move to a completely different screen. Now, developments using the internet and NGTOS from Vinet Global mean that the travel professional has access to a fully integrated, browser based software system that will allow them, irrespective of size, the flexibility to adapt their company to meet the needs of their ever evolving travel industry.

It is also worth noting that travel companies no longer need to have their valuable floor space cluttered with large mainframe computers. NGTOS is a PC based product. It was designed and built around Microsoft’s SQL database, together with Microsoft’s Windows and Internet Explorer. 

NGTOS is currently interfaced to Worldspan and Sabre, with developments for Amadeus and Galileo links to be announced shortly. NGTOS, together with its links to GDS (Global distribution Systems), can offer a totally automated communications network with worldwide hotels, car rental companies and ground operators, making Vinet Global’s NGTOS the most superior DPS (Dynamic Packaging System) in the UK.
