FlyBE. voted UK`s No. 1 low cost airline

The prestigious travel publication, Wanderlust, has today named FlyBE. as
the UK`s most preferred low cost airline, ahead of Ryanair, easyJet,
MyTravelLite and bmibaby.

Recognising the rise of the regional airport, the report, published in
Wanderlust`s October/November 2003 issue, placed FlyBE.?s major new base,
Southampton International as the UK`s top airport.  FlyBE. launched its low
fare flights from the central southern airport in March and this accolade
reflects the phenomenal rise in the number of passengers now utilising
Southampton as a result of FlyBE.`s extensive operations.
Sara Randall Johnson, FlyBE.`s General Manager Public Relations, said:  “We
are absolutely delighted with this recognition, which acts as further proof
that the FlyBE./Southampton partnership is a winning formula and a popular
choice for our passengers.  We will continue to embrace the regions and will
be expanding our low fares network further in the coming months.”

73.8% of readers voted for FlyBE., that`s almost 10% ahead of Ryanair, which
was positioned fourth in the survey with 64.2%.  bmibaby and easyJet were
also lagging behind FlyBE. with 69.0% and 69.8% respectively.
FlyBE. serves 17 UK airports and 20 international destinations, with
principal bases at Southampton, Birmingham, the Channel Islands and Belfast.
Flights from a new base at Exeter will commence next March.  Passengers can
