Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) has announced that Canadian consumers and organizations now can buy Delta frequent flyer miles online at delta.com/buymiles.

“Miles are unique gifts, as well as innovative loyalty and incentive tools,” said Christine Pierce, Delta`s director of Partnership Marketing. “Our mileage sales programs now offer Canadian customers a customized and efficient way to thank friends, customers and colleagues with a highly desirable item - the gift of travel.”

Consumers in Canada may purchase miles online for themselves or others as a gift. Individuals may purchase SkyMiles in increments of 1,000 miles for $0.0275 USD per mile plus applicable United States and Canadian taxes and a processing fee. Multiple gifts may be given with one transaction, and the purchaser does not have to be a SkyMiles member. SkyMiles may be redeemed for travel benefits such as Crown Room Club membership, upgrades and confirmed Award Travel to more than 400 destinations worldwide on Delta or its partner airlines.

Delta also offers companies and organizations in Canada the opportunity to purchase miles in larger increments through its SkyRewards? program. Organizations may purchase and distribute SkyMiles at delta.com/skyrewards to use as employee and customer incentives to increase productivity and sales volume.

The ability to purchase miles online further expands offerings available to SkyMiles members at delta.com, which gives customers greater control of the travel experience with flight research and booking capabilities, as well as critical travel information and services. At delta.com, SkyMiles members can also book Award Travel, view account balance and sign up to receive statements via e-mail.

Delta and its Delta Connection Carriers fly approximately 50 flights daily between the United States and the Canadian gateways of Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Fredericton, Halifax, Ottawa and Vancouver.

Delta SkyMiles members earn miles by flying Delta, Song, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection, Delta AirElite and Delta`s worldwide partners, including the airline`s SkyTeam partners. The program offers Canadians additional mileage-building opportunities through SkyMiles partners such as leading hotels, car rental companies, floral purchases and mortgage and realty services.
