ATA Holdings Corp., parent company of ATA Airlines, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATAH), the nation`s 10th largest passenger carrier, today announced that Wisty B. Malone has been named Vice President and Controller. Malone will be based out of ATA`s corporate headquarters in Indianapolis and will report to Dave Wing, ATA`s Chief Financial Officer.
“Wisty brings over 15 years of accounting, budgeting and financial management experience to this position,” said Wing. “Her airline industry knowledge, proven financial leadership abilities and diligence to every task she undertakes will continue to serve the Company well during this challenging period for the airline.”
Malone`s appointment as Vice President at ATA follows an accomplished career in accounting and financial reporting, most recently as ATA`s Director of Financial Accounting. She was instrumental in establishing and implementing an operating and capital budget process for the Company`s various business units, and ensuring the high quality of internal and external financial reporting. Before joining ATA in 1995, Malone was a manager for the accounting firm KPMG, where she held several positions in the firm`s auditing and consulting areas during her eight-year tenure.
A Certified Public Accountant, Malone received an accounting degree in 1987 from Indiana University.
Malone enjoys doing volunteer work and currently leads her son`s Cub Scout Troop. She and her family reside in Indianapolis.
