United Airlines is set to post a full year loss of USD$3.2 billion a US bankruptcy court has been told by the company.

This is ahead of forecasts by industry financial observers who had predicted losses in the region of USD$2.5 billion.

The record loss was revealed to the court by the company`s chief financial officer. The airline`s original estimate was for losses of USD$2.1 billion in 2002, in ine with last year`s figure.
