Executive Travel Joins EveryFare Program

FORT WORTH, Texas - Executive Travel Service, Inc., has joined the American Airlines EveryFare program. By joining the EveryFare program, Dallas/Fort Worth-based Executive Travel will have access to American’s popular “Web fares” via its Global Distribution System (GDS).

“The EveryFare program provides key benefits to our corporate clients by allowing us the ability to offer them all of American’s public fares—including low-price Web fares—through our normal global distribution system,” said Polly Trapp, President - Executive Travel Services, Inc. “Previously, corporate clients could not track or receive credit for their online bookings. In the near future, we will be able to capture this information and provide reporting for these clients, while offering the benefits of these lower fares.

“In exchange for Web fare access, Executive Travel assumes much of American’s reservation system fees, enabling them to reduce their overall distribution costs,” she added. “This is a win-win-win arrangement for our clients, our agency and the airline.”

Craig Kreeger, American’s Vice President-Sales, welcomed Executive Travel to the program, adding: “Executive Travel will enjoy a competitve advantage by offering their clients the full range of American’s public fares throughout our huge global route network.”

American announced the innovative EveryFare program in September and is making its Web fares available for sale by any traditional “bricks and mortar” U.S. or Canadian travel agency that signs up for the EveryFare program, and thus becomes a long-term, lower-cost distribution channel.

The innovative EveryFare program provides these Web fares in exchange for effectively shifting the responsibility for the cost of GDS booking fees from American to the travel agency. American initially gives travel agencies an allowance credit of approximately US$4 per flight coupon. Travel agents then pay to American an amount equal to their own GDS fees, based upon their own choice of GDS services and products.

The allowance paid agencies gradually declines during the term of the contract, to allow EveryFare program participants time to seek lower GDS fees. The result will be lower distribution costs for American on all fares distributed via participating EveryFare agencies.
