JetBlue Airways Announces Two New Board Members

The Board at JetBlue Airways, New York`s hometown,
low-fare carrier has announced two new members: JetBlue`s President and Chief Operating Officer Dave Barger and Executive Vice President of People Ann Rhoades.

Mr Barger joined JetBlue in August, 1998 from Continental Airlines where, in an 18-year career with the airline, he was most recently Vice President for the Newark Hub Operation and one of 38 officers of the Houston-based company. The Newark hub operation, New York`s largest, handled over 50,000 daily customers on 800 flight movements per day.


While at Continental, Dave held the positions of Chairman of the Regional Business Partnership (Chamber of Commerce for metropolitan Newark region); board member and executive member of Prosperity New Jersey, a public/private partnership established by the Governor; board member of the State Chamber of Commerce in Trenton; the Newark Economic Development Corporation, the Governor`s Panel of Higher Education in the State of New Jersey; and, trustee for the Newark Museum.


Ms Rhoades joined JetBlue in April, 1999 after four years as Executive Vice President, Team Services and Public Relations at Promus Hotel Corporation/Doubletree Hotel Corporation, and six years previously as Vice President, People at Southwest Airlines.


Ann is a Board Member at Western Warehouse and previously has held the positions of Chairman, University of New Mexico Foundation Board, UNMRO, Anderson School of Business, United Way, New Mexico Bank Women, and Board Member, Restoration Hardware.

Mr Barger and Ms Rhoades join JetBlue`s existing 8-member Board: Michael Lazarus (Chairman of the Board) and Tom Patterson from Weston Presidio; Neal Moszkowski and Frank Sica from Soros Private Equity Management; Dave Ferguson from JP Morgan Chase; Dave Checketts; Joel Peterson; and David Neeleman (JetBlue`s Chief Executive Officer).


JetBlue was voted the #2 domestic airline for comfort and service in the 2001 Zagat Airline Survey and recently received top ranking (A grade) in an online survey by PlanetFeedback.com. The airline has carried three million passengers since launching in February 2000 and has grown to become JFK`s 4th busiest airline, currently operating 80 flights a day with a fleet of 16 brand new Airbus A320 aircraft.
