Spirit Airlines Announces Patrick Strasburger As Vice President Of Ground Operations

Patrick J. Strasburger has joined the executive crew of Spirit Airlines as vice president of ground operations. To support Spirit’s continuing service expansion, Strasburger will lead the low-fare specialist in airport operations, catering services and aircraft appearance.
Strasburger brings to Spirit a broad scope of domestic and international airline expansion and service development.

“We welcome Patrick onboard Spirit Airlines,” said Ned Homfeld, Spirit’s founder and chairman. “With more than 20 years of industry experience, Patrick will lead all aspects of Spirit’s airport operations in 14 markets coast-to-coast. He will play a vital role as we continue to focus on friendly service at the gate and onboard our flights,” said Homfeld.

Strasburger graduated from Metropolitan State College in Denver, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management and Marketing Management. In 1980, Strasburger launched his career with Continental Airlines. Beginning his journey in international business development, Strasburger directed field services in Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, Israel and Canada. After twenty years of service, in July 1995, Strasburger became director and managing director of the airline, and was responsible for Continental’s international airport and cargo operations.

In 2000, Strasburger familiarized himself with a smaller carrier. As the director and general manager of SilverHawk Airlines Division, he began development of a charter airline.
