Thai Airways International Public Company Limited announced the financial performance of the second quarter period during 1999/2000 budget year from January to March 2000 with a pre-tax profit of 2,462 million baht.

Mr. Amnuay Chanya, THAI’s Executive Vice President, Finance and Information Technology, announced an operating profit of 29,239 million baht and pre-tax profit of 2,462 million baht, an increase of 238 million baht compared to the same period last year.

For the six-month financial performance during the period of October 1999 to March 2000, THAI’s operating profit was reported at 59,468 million baht and a pre-tax profit of 12,868 milllion baht. The net profit reached 9,745 million baht, an increase of 1,067 million baht compared to the same period last year. The earning per share was 6.96 baht compared to the 6.20 baht from the same period last year.
