Vanguard Airlines Reports January Traffic

Kansas City, MO—Vanguard Airlines, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: VNGD) reported traffic for the month of January 2002 of 93.6 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs). Capacity was 156.6 million available seat miles (ASMs). Load factor was 59.8 percent.

As compared to January of last year, traffic increased 56 percent from 60.1 million RPMs; capacity increased 10 percent from 141.9 million ASMs; and load factor increased 17.4 points, or 41 percent.

“Since the reconfiguration of our route structure in January 2001, passengers have responded to the improved service,” said Scott Dickson, CEO and President of Vanguard Airlines. “These numbers are a clear indication of the positive changes we have made over the past year. We put an entirely new look on this airline in 2001, and look forward to continuing our progress in 2002. These numbers further validate our proof of concept and, significantly, were achieved despite the post September 11 industry down turn.”
