Vanguard Airlines Reports A 17% Increase In November Traffic

Kansas City, MO—Vanguard Airlines, Inc. (Nasdaq: VNGD) reported that for the month of November 1999 traffic increased 17% to approximately 68.9 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in November 1999 from approximately 58.8 million in November 1998. Capacity increased 38% to approximately 120.2 million available seat miles (ASMs) in November 1999 versus 87.2 million in November 1998. Load factor decreased approximately ten points to 57.3% in November 1999 from approximately 67.4% in November 1998.


Year-to-date RPMs increased 23% to approximately 790.0 million in 1999 from approximately 644.0 million in 1998. Year-to-date ASMs increased 24% to approximately 1,179.5 million in 1999 from approximately 954.3 million in 1998. Year-to-date load factor decreased approximately one point to 67.0% in 1999 from 67.5% in 1998.


Robert J. “Rocky” Spane, CEO and President of Vanguard Airlines, said, “While our November load factor fell about ten points, we were pleased to achieve an increase in passenger yield of approximately 7%.”
