SAA And Varig Airlines Expand Business Partnership

South African Airways and Brazilian airline, Varig, are extending their business partnership, which will see their customers reaching more destinations.
Currently, SAA operates a non-stop service with Varig, three times a week, between Johannesburg and Sao Paulo.

With the new partnership, starting from October 2, SAA will sell seats on Varig flights from Sao Paulo to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. In turn, Varig will also be able to extend their service to Cape Town and Durban.

“The partnership reinforces the importance of alliances with global players in providing connectivity to various parts of the world. It is also part of SAA`s bigger strategy to ensure good customer service by providing the convenience of seamless travel on international and domestic flights,” said Victor Nosi, SAA Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications.

Already, SAA has 12 partnerships with other airlines that can take passengers to over 700 destinations worldwide.

Varig was founded in 1927. It serves 36 cities in Brazil, 27 cities throughout the rest of the world, flying to 18 countries in four continents. It is classified by the International Airline Transportation Association (IATA) as one of the 25 largest airlines in the world. Varig has received many commendations from the international press for the quality of its services.
