Northwest Airlines today announced that it has matched American Airlineså’ unpublished business fare discount program offering reductions ranging from 5% on lower-priced restrictive business fares, to 10% on the higher, completely unrestricted business fares.
Northwest is offering this unpublished business fare discount program through all travel agencies. The 5-10% discounts are also available to consumers who purchase their tickets directly from Northwest, including its nwa.com Web site, reservations centers, or city and airport ticket offices.
“This program offers discounts to every travel agency in the country,” said Tom Bach, vice president of pricing and yield management. “We have restored our previous fare levels, but are now offering unpublished discounts of up to 10% on business fares, similar to a competitor.”
