SAA Urges US-Bound Passengers To Check In 3 Hours Before Departure

Because of stringent security measures implemented by the US Federal Aviation Administration, passengers travelling to the United States are reminded to check-in three-hours prior to the departure of their flights.

Domestic travellers are required to check-in one and half-hours before the departure of their flights, while regional and international flights check-in times, stands at two and a half hours.

SAA reminds all passengers that they are required to carry identity documents with matching photographs. Names on their IDS must match names on their tickets.
Although passengers travelling to the US have been asked before to arrive three hours before the departure of their flights, many still arrive an hour before, resulting in congestion at Johannesburg and Cape Town airports and delays of US bound flights.
