The new Swiss inter-continental airline is to establish its own Cargo Division. This was the decision taken by the Board of Directors at yesterday’s Board Meeting. The new Division will be responsible for marketing the freight capacity of its own fleet.
With the cargo marketing under its own control, the new Swiss airline will be better able to ensure that the important cargo revenues are guaranteed within the objectives set out in the Phoenix plus Business Plan. Long-haul flights can only be economically operated with a good freight system.
Swisscargo and Crossair will continue to offer the same reliable services and high quality as before. The marketing organisation of the new Cargo Division will shortly make direct contacts with clients to give details of the services offered. The service partners (Handling Agents etc.) will receive new contracts on April 1, 2002.
