British Midland Introduces Insurance Surcharge On Tickets

As a result of recent significant increases in insurance premiums, bmi british midland is introducing a surcharge to cover these additional costs. The surcharge will apply on all bmi flights, including codeshare flight numbers, where tickets are issued on or after 21 November 2001.

The surcharge will be £2.50 per flight sector for tickets sold in the UK and $4.00 per flight sector in local currency, for tickets sold in all other countries. The surcharge is not applicable for journeys originating in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain, as the increased insurance costs are already being recovered through a local increase in fares charged.

The surcharge will be applicable to all passengers, including children and infants and is in addition to all existing taxes, fees and charges and will not be subject to any discounts.
