Beery Elected Vice President, Business Technology Delivery

America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) today
announced the election of Joseph Beery as vice president, business technology
delivery.  Beery will be responsible for all computer system development and
deployment throughout the company.

“Joe has made significant contributions to the company in the past year,
including the implementation of an automated gate management system and a new
cargo tracking system,” said Evon Jones, senior vice president and chief
information officer.  “In addition to his achievements, Joe has demonstrated
strong leadership and created a winning team environment.”
 
Beery joined America West in June 1999 as senior director of business
technology delivery for America West Technologies.  Prior to joining America
West, Beery worked for Motorola SPS for nine years in various technology
management positions.  Beery holds a bachelor of science degree in business
administration and computer science from the University of New Mexico.
