Lufthansa Technik - An Ideal Partner For Airlines With Small Fleets

New customer in Indian Ocean Air Austral signs ten-year contract for Total Engine Support (TES)
For the next ten years Air Austral is entrusting the maintenance and overhaul of its engines to Lufthansa Technik AG (LHT). LHT will start servicing immediately the CFM56-3 engines of three Boeing 737s belonging to the airline, which is based in La Réunion, France.
Under LHT`s Total Engine Support (TES®) contract, the new customer gets a comprehensive, “worry-free” service package for engine maintenance and overhaul. With its modular service elements the package can be customized to fit the specific needs of any airline.

“We make an ideal partner for airlines with small fleets,” declares Herbert Reiländer, LHT Area Manager Sales for Southeast Asia and Australia. “They benefit from our experience and the broad scope of our services. Young airlines in particular often can`t afford the heavy investment in infrastructure and materials they would have to make in order to acquire a maintenance and overhaul capability of their own.”
Founded in 1990, Air Austral is an affiliate of Air France. It flies to destinations throughout the islands of the Indian Ocean and in eastern and southern Africa. Its fleet consists of three Boeings (737-300 and -500) plus one ATR 72-500.

Lufthansa Technik is one of the world`s largest providers of aircraft MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul). Its international alliance of companies has a combined total of over 18,000 employees and is known for its superior technical competence and for the reliability and high quality of the customized service that it provides to its customers.
