Rise Load Factor Continues

Overall traffic:

In line with traffic development in KLM`s second quarter (July-September), October traffic also increased by 2%,  while capacity was at last year`s level. Consequently, overall load factor increased by 1.6 percentage points from 79.9% last year to 81.5% this year. Traffic growth was especially strong in the route areas Africa (+14%), Asia Pacific (+11%) and Europe (+7%).

Passenger traffic:

Passenger traffic increased by 1%, while capacity decreased by 1%. As a result, passenger load factor increased by 1.4 percentage points to 82.2% this year. Passenger traffic growth was strong in the route areas Africa (+9%) and Europe (+8%).  Business Class traffic was especially strong in all key geographic areas (North Atlantic, Europe, Asia Pacific) as well in Africa and exceeded Economy Class growth once again.

Cargo traffic:

Cargo traffic increased by 5%, whereas capacity grew by 2%. Traffic growth was especially strong in the route area Africa (+25%), where capacity grew by 18%. Growth was also strong in the route area Asia Pacific (+16%), where cargo load factor reached a level of 86.3%.
