Ed Neer Retires from Northwest Airlines’ MLT Vacations


MINNEAPOLIS å- (June 25, 2002) å- Northwest Airlines announced today that Ed Neer, chairman and chief executive officer of MLT Vacations, Inc., a subsidiary of Northwest Airlines, Inc., has retired.


“Northwest Airlines WorldVacations’ business has continued to grow for the past 15 years, thanks in large measure to Ed’s leadership. We thank him for his 30 years of service to the Northwest Airlines family and wish him well in the future,” said Tim Griffin, executive vice president marketing and distribution.


Neer began his career at Northwest in 1972 as a sales representative in Washington, D.C. While at Northwest, he held various positions including director of industry marketing and sales, and director of western region sales. In 1987, he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MLT Vacations.


Under Neer’s leadership, MLT became one of the top U.S. vacation wholesalers, serving nearly one million vacationers every year who use MLT Vacations and Northwest Airlines WorldVacations.
