Air New Zealand Group: Chief Operating Officer Appointed

Andrew Miller has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for the Air New Zealand Group. He will also deputise for the Chief Executive Officer, Ralph Norris, in his absence.


Announcing the appointment, Managing Director and CEO, Mr Norris, said: “In his new role Andrew will have continuing responsibility for Network and Revenue Management, Marketing and Alliances and Freedom Air. Drawing upon his significant experience gained in the radical overhaul of our Domestic Airline Group in the late 1990s, he will also be responsible for airline strategy and optimising the profitability and performance of the various airlines within the Group.”


Andrew Miller began his career with British Airways in the United Kingdom. He subsequently worked with Coopers and Lybrand and KPMG as a management consultant and then in senior management roles for retail groups in the UK. In 1990, he moved to Australia. Prior to joining Air New Zealand, he was Regional President - Australasia in the Duty Free Shoppers Group.


Andrew was appointed General Manager of the Air New Zealand Domestic Airline Group in 1997 and then General Manager, Ansett Domestic. Prior to his current appointment he was Senior Vice President Strategy and Planning.
