Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc. Selects Galaxy Technology

Galaxy Hotel Systems LLC, announced the successful implementation of the company`s Galaxy/UX Property Management System (PMS) for Canadian Niagara Hotels, Inc.

Seven of their properties went live at the same time on one server including the - Brock Plaza, Skyline Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn At The Falls, Sheraton on the Falls, Days Inn At The Falls and Inn On The Parkway. All of these properties are located either on Canadian or U.S. soil surrounding the world famous Niagara Falls. Representing a total of 1,619 rooms, Canadian Niagara Hotels, Inc. is utilizing a single, centralized HP rp5400 Enterprise Server to support 137 PC workstations and 55 printers throughout the networked properties, all of which are accessing Galaxy`s robust and feature-rich Galaxy UX Property Management System (PMS) for increased operational efficiencies.
The inherent “complexing” design of the system has enabled Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc. to implement an ASP-like environment for consolidated reservations, accounts receivable, guest history, telecommunications and catering/convention for all seven of their properties.

“The diversity of our operations as well as the unique requirements associated with operating properties representing four different franchised brands, was a key element in our decision to implement a solution that provided a consolidated infrastructure,” stated Don Calaguiro, vice president and general manager, Sheraton on the Falls. “The single-server concept, coupled with Galaxy UX`s capacity to deliver `complexing` technology truly fit our requirements for a robust solution that would provide a consolidated view of all of our operations,” he continued.

Taking full advantage of Galaxy UX`s “complexing” architecture, Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc., is utilizing this consolidated technology approach to effectively provide its managers and associates with a single point of access to all the properties guest history and transaction files, regardless of the point of origin from which the guests` data was generated. In this shared environment, consolidated reservations, accounting, PBX, call accounting, voice messaging and property management systems are linked via the existing network infrastructure to provide a cost effective, single-point solution for cross-property utilization. This consolidated environment also enables centralized system administration and maintenance, single-point bank interface through Southern DataComm`s solution to the properties transaction processor, Moneris, and the properties can now function in a paperless environment at the front desk.
