Uniglobe Franchisee Converts to Sabre GDS for Travel Bookings

Uniglobe
franchisee Top Flight Travel has contracted to use the Sabre global distribution system (GDS) for travel bookings.
The agency`s offices in London, Plymouth and Reading will start converting to Sabre, from Galileo
, in April.  Implementation will be completed by the end of June.
Top Flight Travel`s move to Sabre
follows three other recent and significant European agency account wins by the GDS.  The conversion of French agencies Club Voyages and Jancarthier from Amadeus has increased Sabre`s French market share by nearly two percent, and the company has also just secured the business of a large Italian corporate travel management organisation.

David Brown, Sabre`s vice president for the UK, Ireland and the Nordic region, said the conversion had been prompted by Sabre`s technological leadership in areas such as online travel and revenue maximisation.  His comments were reinforced by Maria Baty, director of Uniglobe Top Flight Travel.

“We converted to Sabre because it was better able to support our technological strategic direction in the form of an online management information system, online booking engine and quality control software” she said.

Top Flight Travel is the largest Uniglobe agency in the UK and the fifth largest in the world.  Brown said the conversion could open the door for more business from Uniglobe franchisees.
