New Air Services Committee Holds First Meeting

A new Air Transportation Services Committee, chaired by Pamela Richards, the United States Virgin Islands commissioner of tourism, held its first meeting during Caribbean Week.

The meeting dealt with a number of critical issues, including the need to support regional carriers and to press for return to Category One airports at CTO member destinations.

The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) described Caribbean Week, held
in New York from June 1-6, 2003, as a very successful event.

“The expanded Caribbean Week allowed our member countries to reach the US consumer directly and to involve the Caribbean diaspora in New York City,” said Jean Holder, CTO`s secretary general, of the public events.
