Delta Air Lines Offers First-Time Codeshare Service to Antigua, Curacao

ATLANTA, April 25, 2002—Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) announced today it will offer customersfirst-time codeshare service to Antigua beginning June 20 , operating three times a week, and Curacao beginning May 21, operating four times a week, to and from Air Jamaica’s hub in Montego Bay. Both flights will operate with Air Jamaica aircraft.

“With these two new services, it’s more convenient for Delta customers to reach additional Caribbean markets like Antigua and Curacao from the United States,” said Arnaldo Ruiz, general manager - Alliances - the Americas.

“Delta’s service offers customers many travel options to important business and leisure destinations within the Caribbean,” said Ruiz. “With our worldwide partners like Air Jamaica, Delta is able to provide service to desired destinations throughout the world.”
On April 17, Delta announced the start of its second flight from the New York area to Montego Bay, also through codeshare service with Air Jamaica, effective May 1. These New York flights will connect conveniently with the new codeshare flights to Antigua and Curacao. 
Delta, with partner Air Jamaica, offers customers 55 daily flights between five U.S. gateways (Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York’s JFK International Airport) and 13 Caribbean destinations, including Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Curacao, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Kingston, Montego Bay, Nassau, San Juan, St. Lucia, and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Air Jamaica, founded in 1969, provides daily service connecting islands throughout the Caribbean from 12 North American destinations, as well as London. The carrier offers more than 350 weekly flights with its fleet of 16 modern aircraft.
