Orlando-based Hotel Discounts Network, the fastest growing online hotel reservations service, has secured $1 million funding to finance continued expansion.
“At a time when the general economy is heading for recession and the travel industry is reeling, it is very gratifying that our private investors continue to show such confidence in our company,” says chairman and CEO Adrian Coppieters. HDN, which offers more than 10,000 hotels and resorts worldwide, has relocated into larger premises and is hiring more staff to cope with growing demand through its online consumer site www.hdn.com and Sanford-based call center.
“We have introduced a number of new features that will revolutionize online reservations and transform the way hotels conduct wholesale business,” adds Coppieters. “No other online reservation system gives hotels round the clock access to manage their inventory and rates which is essential if they are to compete in today`s marketplace. Through our sister site addyourhotels.com, participating hotels can now react almost instantly to changing events and circumstances by adjusting wholesale rates or making more rooms available,” says Coppieters. “And, as a major discounter we can then rapidly sell these rooms to consumers, travel agencies and overseas wholesalers. We are also ideally positioned to profit as corporate America switches to the Web for much of its travel needs”, says Coppieters.
“HDN is ahead of the competition because we are both a leading provider of discount hotel, resort and villa accommodation and a developer of specialist software for the hospitality industry,” says president George Demakos. “Although a private company our investors are fully committed to our program for planned growth through acquisitions and strategic partnerships.”
