American Airlines announced today that AA.com has experienced record number of both usage and visits.
Citing an aggressive campaign of Internet fare sales being offered to the traveling public, AA.com has recently received more than three-quarters of a million daily visits - a 165% increase compared with the same time last year.
AA.com began promoting Internet fare sales in November 1998, rapidly building a loyal base of online customers. The American Airlines Web site is among the top travel sites on the Internet and is recognised as one of the largest e-commerce sites (Media Metrix). AA.com recently has received several honours, including a place in Information Week`s “Innovation 100: The Customer” ranking, and “Best Airline Site” and “Best Travel Site” WebAwards for 2000.
