Rezidor plans Brussels addition

The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced the Park Inn Brussels Midi in Belgium. The property featuring 142 rooms will be located adjacent to the Gare du Midi train station and welcome the first guests in early 2011.  “This signing brings our Belgian portfolio to 11 hotels with more than 1,600 rooms in operation and under development”, says Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. “At the same time it further strengthens our Park Inn portfolio - this young and dynamic brand was born six years ago and comprises today more than 125 hotels across EMEA.”

Besides 142 modern guest rooms, the new hotel will offer a restaurant and bar, three meeting rooms, a health- & fitness centre and an underground parking. Gare du Midi is Brussels’ main train station, with 15 million annual passengers and daily connections to Paris, London and Amsterdam. The area surrounding the station is undergoing a major transformation - a key part is the so called South City development which includes the Park Inn and 33,000 square metres of office and retail space.

The city centre of Brussels is less than 2 kilometres away from the site and features traditional squares like the famous Grand Place, museums, shops, restaurants and nightlife. Brussels is an important strategic centre of international politics and commerce - it is the capital of the European Union and hosts the main EU institutions, NATO and European head quarters of several multinational companies.
