Travelport adds Chinese to Galileo

Travelport GDS has added Chinese language capability to Galileo Online Travel. Galileo Online Travel allows agents to provide customers with a self booking tool which has access to a wide variety of full service carriers, low cost carriers and land content via the Internet. The customer will be able to search, compare and book flights, hotel and other ground services online with results displayed on a simple to read, consolidated screen. The addition of the new Chinese language capability is a useful bonus for Chinese speaking businesses, especially in markets such as Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Other enhancements include a language display option and a Search Countries feature which enables agents to configure the countries and manage traveler access and purchase both to and from the destination. A Hong Kong agency for example may have fares departing not only from Hong Kong but also from cities in Taiwan, Taipei, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing and can compare fares.

Agents will be able to brand Galileo Online Travel to provide a customised and distinctive online shop face to their customer base. Other features include one way combinable fare options, a consolidated screen for easy price comparison and integration of land options from Galileo’s sister companies OctopusTravel.com and RatesToGo. Based on the technology behind Galileo’s successful Galileo Low Cost Air solution, it offers access to a wide range of low cost carriers, with simple search, look and book functionality.
