Sabre reveals crew management upgrade

Sabre Airline Solutions has announced a major addition to its airline crew management solution, which provides airlines the ability to save money and improve crew hotel costs. In partnership with TLX Inc., Sabre Airline Solutions now has the ability to integrate an airline’s crew management and manpower planning processes with hotel booking and layover management.  The streamlined functionality also improves crew satisfaction by communicating with them efficiently and providing more choice in hotel offerings. The solution also serves as a specialized central reservation system for airline crew hotel needs from the time room blocks are set up and trip pairs assigned, through the day of operation and post-hotel departure.

TLX’s CrewRez platform will be offered in addition to and integrated into any of the Sabre crew management solutions including, AirCrews, Rocade Crew Management System and CrewTrac.

Hotels also receive unprecedented benefits by improving their ability to manage this complex market segment. Through the new solution provided by TLX and Sabre Airline Solutions, hotels will now receive advance monthly forecasts with specific daily room needs, automated delivery of crew member names with dynamic up-to-the-minute change notifications and reports to allow hotels to manage room inventory.

A unique reverse billing and reconciliation process streamlines payment procedures. These examples, combined with 24-hour customer support to assist all constituents, result in better management and control of crew hotel costs, which are estimated to total over US$3 billion annually for all airlines worldwide.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to work with Sabre to enhance their offerings in the crew management arena,” said John H. Holdsworth, president & chief executive officer of TLX. “Our CrewRez platform, with its Layover and Transportation Management System solutions, together with our hotel sourcing and contracting services, offer outstanding opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in all areas.”
