flyadeal touches down at Milan Bergamo Airport with first Italy flights

Milan Bergamo Airport has welcomed the arrival of Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier flyadeal, which has commenced operations in Italy with the introduction of nonstop services to Jeddah and Riyadh.

The inaugural flight from Jeddah on the Red Sea coast touched down at Milan Bergamo Airport on 1 July, followed by the launch of services to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on 2 July, as the airport continues to expand connectivity across the Gulf region.

The new routes are operated three times per week using flyadeal’s next-generation Airbus A320neo aircraft. Flights to Jeddah operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while services to Riyadh run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The launch of the two routes adds Saudi Arabia to Milan Bergamo Airport’s route network, making it the 45th country served from the airport during the 2026 summer season.

The new services are expected to support both inbound tourism and outbound travel demand, offering travellers from Saudi Arabia direct access to one of Europe’s most economically dynamic regions, while offering passengers from Northern Italy with convenient links to Saudi Arabia and onward connections across the Middle East and Pakistan through flyadeal’s expanding network.

The Jeddah route is expected to generate strong demand among communities across Milan Bergamo Airport’s catchment area with close cultural, family and religious ties to Saudi Arabia, while both routes are anticipated to support growing business links between the two markets.

Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, Marketing and Communications at SACBO, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the launch of flyadeal’s first-ever services to Italy and to welcome the airline to Milan Bergamo Airport. The start of operations to Jeddah and Riyadh represents an important step in strengthening our connectivity with Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region.”

flyadeal, a subsidiary of Saudi Arbia’s flag carrier SUADIA, has rapidly expanded since its launch and now operates a young fleet of over 40 Airbus A320 family aircraft from bases in Jeddah, Riyadh, Madinah and Dammam to more than 40 seasonal and year-round destinations across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and South Asia.
