Rezidor reveals 50th MEAO project

The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced that the Radisson Dubai Trade Centre District - the 450-room property (scheduled to open end of 2011) is to be the 50th Rezidor property in operation or under development in the MEAO-region.“Our pipeline in this area now features almost 13,000 rooms, and we are managing seven hotels in Dubai alone”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. “This is a further and clear sign of our commitment to this rapidly developing market where we see big potential.”

The Radisson Dubai Trade Centre District will be built next to the World Trade Centre Apartments as part of the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Dubai, the emirate of extraordinary possibilities and endless limits, has developed over recent years as a leading MICE destination - in 2007 Dubai World Trade Centre hosted more than 100 exhibitions with more than one million visitors.

Upon completion, the new Radisson will provide 450 guest rooms, comprising a mixture of standard, deluxe and executive rooms, as well as junior suites and one presidential suite.
Further building on Rezidor’s extensive portfolio of award-winning bars and restaurants that are already on offer at the Radisson SAS hotels in both Dubai Deira Creek and Dubai Media City, the new property will also offer a selection of unique bars and restaurants including an all-day dining space of 980 square metres. A combination of private dining spaces, satellite kitchens, bistros, lounges and a nightclub, will all be topped with a spectacular rooftop bar and terrace with views of the Dubai skyline. The hotel will also offer 1,490 square metres of meeting and banqueting space, a fitness centre, a pool area, an executive lounge and a business centre.

A metro station is planned 200 metres away from the site - and Dubai International Airport is 10 kilometres from the hotel.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of the recent news that Rezidor has further strengthened its portfolio in Dubai with a dual hotel in the “DMCC Business Park” within the DMCC Freezone. A 32-storey complex will feature the Radisson DMCC Business Park Hotel (150 rooms) and a second as yet unbranded hotel (300 rooms), both to open in Q3 2011. These new hotels are in addition to the Radisson Hotel Jumeirah (240 rooms) which is due to open late in 2009 and the Radisson SAS Residences (153 rooms) which are due to open soon in Dubai Marina.
