Vasiliou is new RADIUS chief

RADIUS has announced that its board of directors has named Christopher Vasiliou as the company’s chief executive officer and president. Vasiliou assumes his new role on 14th July 2008.  He will also serve on the RADIUS board of directors.  RADIUS is one of the largest travel management companies in the world with 90 travel agencies operating from more than 3,600 branch locations in 80 countries to produce a USD 20 billion in combined sales turnover.

Before joining RADIUS, Vasiliou was responsible for managing strategy, joint ventures, alliances and direct distribution for Sabre’s Asia Pacific division based in Shanghai.  Prior to the Asia Pacific position, he held various leadership positions at Sabre and Travelocity including Chief Operating Officer at Travelocity, Senior Vice President of North and South America for Sabre Travel Network, as well as Managing Director of National Accounts and Managing Director of Sabre Europe.  He started his career in the hotel and travel agency business before joining American Airlines/Sabre and holds a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and served in the United States Navy.
