Houston to lead Fairmont Heritage

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Rick Houston as general manager, Fairmont Heritage Place Operations.

In this new role, Houston will be responsible for the overall operations of all properties under the Fairmont Heritage Place brand, an exclusive community of lavish vacation homes that offer fractional ownership in prestigious destinations around the world.  Houston will also be in charge of the transition and integration of any new private residence club homes, and will continue with his current duties of overseeing the day-to-day activity at the Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge.

First up for Houston will be the 2008 opening of San Francisco’s Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square.  Set to open later in year, the development, which comprises 53 private residences, is one of the first mixed-use redevelopment projects in the United States and represents sophisticated urban living at its finest.

A seasoned hotelier, with extensive knowledge of the vacation ownership business, Houston brings over 20 years of experience to the new position.  Over the course of his career he has worked at several prominent resorts including the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah, The Peaks Resorts and Spa in Telluride, Colorado, and The Boulders in Carefree, Arizona.  Most recently, he served as the general manager, Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge.
