ViaMichelin Maps & Drive API is a new web 2.0 geolocation service which allows businesses to personalise their Internet, intranet and extranet sites and offer maps and route plans.

The solution comes in the form of a simple, open interface developed in Javascript and HTML to enable website developers to seamlessly enhance websites with the addition of geolocation services (maps, route calculations, etc).

Coutts & Co, Domino’s Pizza, Jessops, Panasonic and Build Base are among the clients to have signed up to the service since its launch.

Homi Behjat, ViaMichelin’s Business Services Sales Manager, commented “More and more businesses are now recognising the value of personalisation in attracting customer loyalty and the commercial and strategic role that the Internet can play in this, given its status as the preferred information source for the vast majority of consumers.”

“The launch of the service represents the next step in ViaMichelin’s geolocation evolution and complements the existing range of mapping solutions that our Business Services division already provides to more than 1,200 businesses,” Behjat added.
