Worktopia is appointing travel industry veteran Peter McElynn to the position of Vice President - Corporate Market Development.
“We are very pleased to have Peter join us in enabling the online marketplace for corporate meetings,” said Brian McCabe, EVP Sales and Business Development of Worktopia. “Peter will head the company’s corporate channel marketing team including promotion of our programs designed to satisfy corporate demand for real time procurement, measurement and management of simple meetings.” The company’s corporate meeting booking service for simple meetings is being offered through GetThere, Travelport and other corporate booking tools and travel management company distribution partners, as well as through direct corporate solutions.
McElynn began his travel industry career at United Airlines and later moved to BPF Travel as Director of Sales until it was acquired by American Express in 1985. He spent 15 years in sales management positions with American Express’s Corporate Services Division, most recently serving as Vice President of Strategic Business Development. McElynn’s experience also includes positions as VP-Business Development for Saturn Reservations (now GT3), WorldTravel-BTI (now BCD Travel) and as SVP of Sales and Market Development for Galileo International (now Travelport).
“I am very excited to be joining the Worktopia team,” said McElynn. “The company offers an unrivaled technology service for corporate meeting planners, providing them with the ability to book simple meetings, catering, AV equipment and even room nights in a single online session, in an offering that automates the last remaining frontier in the travel management and distribution system.”
