Ohtel, a new boutique hotel offering just 10 luxury rooms, many with harbour, marina and park views, is to open in Wellington’s Oriental Bay in February 2008.Each of the 10 spacious rooms will be distinctively furnished with contemporary New Zealand artwork, delivering an urban ‘inspirational’ environment.
While visually the emphasis is on style, behind the scenes the management at Ohtel has an equal promise to an exceptional standard of personalised service and eco awareness.
The Ohtel’s hot water will be generated by solar power, eco friendly cleaning products will be used, waste will be recycled and guests’ toiletries will be made from totally natural ingredients. Where possible, supplies will be sourced locally, not only supporting the Wellington business community but minimising the amount of transportation required.
“This property will be unique amongst Wellington hotels, delivering an exciting new experience for guests looking for something a little different,” said Sarah Peacock, Australia Marketing Manager for Positively Wellington Tourism.
“This is perfect for Wellington, adding yet another option in a city known for its boutique offerings and individuality,” she said.
“The Ohtel rooms will be spread across just three levels, offering design which is both luxurious and contemporary with a twist, and guaranteed to create ‘must-see-and-be-seen-in’ surroundings,” said Ms Peacock.
Bathrooms with luxurious two person baths and oversized showers framed in large expanses of glass accentuate each room’s natural light. A wellness room with an infra red sauna and cardio bike are available all day while customised mini bars add a special touch, and complimentary refreshments are standard on arrival. Gourmet food is available in each room, or in the intimate and funky lobby, which features an open gas fire.
Ohtel is a member of the Navigate Oceania, a new collection of 26 inspired destinations and unique experiences from New Zealand and Fiji’s best boutique hotels and luxury accommodation.
