Air India is likely to get Star Alliance membership by December, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel told reporters on Tuesday.“A formal announcement (on Air India’s membership) is due in December. Things are looking positive and the process is on,” Patel told reporters on the sidelines of an industry event, Dow Jones news wire reported.

Patel also said the government will take a decision on the timeframe of Air India’s initial public offering after six months.
