interTouch wins Westin Taipei deal

interTouch has announced a new agreement with The Westin Taipei to provide the hotel with its new-generation iBIS 7.0.  Designed with the business traveller’s needs in mind, iBIS 7.0, interTouch’s proprietary broadband system, will allow hotel guests at The Westin Taipei to enjoy total ease and convenience in getting connected on interTouch’s high-speed and secure network.

“Business travellers staying at The Westin Taipei will be the first in the city to have access to the latest in broadband technology to add to the existing top quality facilities in the hotel.  We are pleased to partner interTouch to provide this service for our guests, which will allow them the freedom to roam and work anywhere in the hotel via seamless mobility from wired to wireless access in all 288 guest rooms, public areas and meeting rooms,” said Mr Samuel Lee, Director of Rooms, The Westin Taipei.

Besides enhanced support of media-rich graphics, access to real-time information feeds, free sites and customised information, guests will enjoy a wider range of billing plans to fit their budgets and needs.

The benefits extend to the hotel as well. The industry-recognised (InfoVision Awards 2007 Finalist) iBIS 7.0 remains stable and robust even as hotel volumes increase, thus making it easy for future interTouch solutions to be integrated and deployed within the hotel.  With a highly flexibile and intuitive graphical user interface, the iBIS 7.0 allows hotels to incorporate their brand identity, as well as promote their F&B and other offers on the guest portal.

Enhanced administrative functions will help The Westin Taipei better manage and maintain all backend functions and processes, reducing workload and increasing efficiency for staff.  As part of the partnership, interTouch will also provide training for staff at The Westin Taipei so they are able to get the most out of the new system, as well as respond professionally to guests’ queries.  interTouch’s 24-hour multi-lingual support service is also available to all guests.

Mr Charles Reed, CEO of interTouch, said, “Increasingly, today’s discerning business travellers expect high speed and secured Internet services that allow them to be as productive on the road as they are in the office.  With growing sophistication security has become a major priority.  interTouch responded to this by engaging a global Fortune 500 company to perform an in-depth security evaluation of iBIS 7.0.  This study concluded that “interTouch had successfully enforced strong measures of security protection”.

“Such proof of product is further demonstration of interTouch’s ongoing commitment to deliver enhanced, secure, reliable, and easy-to-manage broadband connectivity to meet the needs of business travellers and hotels.  It is this commitment that gives travellers peace of mind and continues to win interTouch the trust and confidence of hotels such as The Westin Taipei.”
