Continental puts $50mn in pension pot

Continental Airlines has contributed an additional $50 million in cash to its defined benefit pension plans, bringing its total year-to-date pension contribution to $261 million.“We continue to focus on doing the right things for our co-workers and fulfilling our pension commitments,” said Chairman and CEO Larry Kellner.

Continental currently expects to contribute more than $325 million to its pension plans in 2007, significantly exceeding its minimum funding requirement of $187 million for the year.
