Priceline targets group travellers

10th Aug 2007 is making two changes to its hotel
services that will enable groups of customers to book up to 1,000
rooms at special discounts and prices. announced today that its Name Your Own Price(R) and
Published-Price hotel services, which previously allowed customers to
book up to four hotel rooms, have both been expanded to accommodate up
to nine rooms at a time. also announced today the launch of a group hotel
booking service on, The
group hotel service is ideal for weddings, reunions, traveling teams
and business meetings. To use the service, customers fill in the
number of rooms they want (between 10 and 1,000), the dates and the
destination. Participating hotels then respond with competing rate
quotes. guarantees that their rates will be the
best or the group coordinator’s room is free. Groups booking through
the new service can qualify for rebates of up to $250

own event Web site, at no charge, to provide information and

Name Your Own Price(R) hotel service, where they pick the destination
and neighborhood, desired star level, dates and the price they want to
