Galileo launches agent booking engine

Galileo is launching of Galileo Online Travel, a sophisticated, web-based booking engine developed specifically for travel agents and their customers.  Galileo Online Travel allows agents to provide customers with a self booking tool which has access to a wide variety of full service carriers, low cost carriers and land content via the Internet.

The customer will be able to search, compare and book flights, hotel and other ground services online with results displayed on a simple to read, consolidated screen.

Galileo Online Travel was developed in line with Galileo’s on-going commitment to provide leading edge products and will enable agents to gain revenue from those customers who prefer to book on-line.

Agents will also be able to drive internal efficiencies by choosing to direct lower yielding bookings online in order to focus on servicing customers with more complex itineraries.

Galileo Online Travel is available now in the Australian and New Zealand marketplace and will be ready for the Asian marketplace in 2008.

According to Galileo’s Director of Product and Technology, Graham Anderson, “With increased competition among travel agencies and supplier web sites, Galileo Online Travel has been designed to enable our agents to maximise additional revenue opportunities and at the same time giving their customers the choice to book online. This is a win/win for agents and travelers.”
Agents will be able to brand Galileo Online Travel to provide a customised and distinctive online shop face to their customer base. Other features include one way combinable fare options, a consolidated screen for easy price comparison and integration of land options from Galileo’s sister companies OctopusTravel.com and RatesToGo.com.

Based on the technology behind Galileo’s successful Galileo Low Cost Air solution, it offers access to a wide range of low cost carriers, with simple search, look and book functionality.
