EU proposes $2 billion for green planes

The European Commission has proposed a 1.6 billion euro ($2.1 bn) public-private plan to help its air transport industry develop environmentally-friendly technologies to reduce pollution emitted by airplanes.

According to Dow Jones news wire the proposal calls for a total of 800 million euros in European Union subsidies.
