Lufthansa and Turkish expand codeshare

Having successfully launched their first codeshare flights in March, Lufthansa and
Turkish Airlines are now entering the second phase of their cooperation. This will include
new codeshare flights starting from May 3rd . Flights operated in codeshare will be
Munich-Istanbul (Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines), Munich-Ankara (Lufthansa and
Turkish Airlines) and Munich-Izmir (Lufthansa). Frankfurt operated routes already
started end of March.
Today’s flight from Istanbul to Munich marks the arrival of Turkish Airlines into
Terminal 2, a Joint Venture between Lufthansa and Munich Airport. The passengers of
both airlines will now benefit from an increased number of flights, destinations and
from better connections to Europe, the US and Canada.

Effective winter schedule 2007/2008, Turkish Airlines will be adding its code on
more routes such as Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles,
Miami, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Washington and Charlotte. Lufthansa
will add its code on Turkish Airlines operated flights to the Middle East, CIS and
Turkish domestic destinations.

Members of both carriers’ frequent flyer programmes will be able to collect miles on
the Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines networks and also redeem them with the partner
carrier. Therefore, both Miles & More and Miles & Smiles members will be able to
benefit from the advantages of a wider range of flights.

The cooperation agreement was signed in December 2006 in Istanbul by Lufthansa CEO
and Chairman Wolfgang Mayrhuber, Turkish Airlines Chairman Candan Karl?tekin and
Turkish Airlines General Manager Temel Kotil.
