InterConti signs for Kiev hotel

IHG has announced the signing of a management contract to open the
InterContinental Kiev in the Ukrainian capital.IHG will manage the
InterContinental Kiev on behalf of the local owner Yaroslaviv Val, one
of the country’s leading real estate developers. The new-build luxury
hotel will open in the first quarter of 2008 and comprise 280 guestrooms
over 12 floors.

Taking a prime location on one of the city’s main squares,
InterContinental Kiev will feature two bars and restaurants, one of
which will be positioned on the rooftop giving diners stunning views
over the city. All major attractions are within walking distance of the
hotel including the famous St Michael Golden Domes.

 

InterContinental Kiev will cater for international and domestic business
travellers, offering a choice of meeting rooms and a ballroom. In
keeping with the high levels of standards and facilities at
InterContinental hotels, the property will also feature a fitness area,
swimming pool, workout room and three treatment rooms.

Today’s signing follows IHG’s announcement last month that it is opening
a new InterContinental hotel in Moscow in 2010. The InterContinental
brand has experienced positive growth throughout the past two years and
in 2006, opened a total of 10 hotels in seven countries. The United
States saw the largest growth of any country during 2006 with the
opening of four new hotels including the new-build flagship
InterContinental Boston.

 

The brand will continue its global expansion throughout 2007 including
four new openings planned in China - Chengdu, Qingdao, Shenzhen and
Jiuzhaigou; the opening of the InterContinental Dubai Festival City and
the launch of the ANA InterContinental Tokyo.
