Jet crashes in Indonesia’s mountains

At least 90 people are reported to have been killed in the crash of an Indonesian airplane from Adam Air.The Boeing 737-400, which disappeared in stormy weather in Monday, was found in Polewali Mandar Regency in West Sulawesi Province by a search and rescue plane, according to a regional official in an interview with a radio station.

The plane was flying from Java to Manado, on the island of Sulawesi. It was carrying six crew and 96 passengers, including 11 children.

Police say officers on foot have arrived at the crash site to find smouldering wreckage.

An airline spokesman confirmed that 12 people survived the crash.
