Dubai rolls out marketing agenda

As part of its aggressive promotional and marketing agenda, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) will be participating in six overseas travel and tourism exhibitions in the month of January 2007. The department had earlier announced its participation in 28 overseas exhibitions and hosting of 10 road shows in different parts of the world next year as part of its energised drive to market Dubai as an ideal year-round business and tourism destination.

The DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, Mr. Khalifa Buamaim, said:

‘The department is maintaining its aggressive promotional and marketing drive and exploring new markets to attract visitors to Dubai. We are tapping established as well as emerging source markets for Dubai’s tourism industry.’

The selection of exhibitions and road shows are based on the strategic plans of the department and crucial marketing inputs provided by the DTCM’s network of 15 Overseas Representation (OR) offices.

The promotion in New Year will kick off with the participation in the Norwegian International Travel and Tourism Fair (Reislev 2007) and Austrian International Travel and Tourism Fair (Ferien-2007) from January 11 to 14.

For the first time, the DTCM will be participating in the Travel Turkey Tourism Exhibition in Istanbul from January 25 to 28. Participation in Spanish International Travel and Tourism Fair (Fitur-2007) in Madrid will be from January 31 to February 4.

At all these exhibitions, the DTCM will put up the Dubai Stand featuring co-participants from the emirate’s booming tourism industry, especially hotels, tour operators, destination management companies (DMCs) and government organisations.
