Continental inks AMEX check-in deal

Continental Airlines has announced a new dedicated Web site that allows American Express Business Travel clients using the American Express Online corporate travel booking tool to check-in, reserve or update seat selections and print boarding passes for their Continental flights online.Functionally, clients who purchase Continental tickets through American Express Online are sent a check-in prompt via e-mail within 24 hours prior to their flight’s departure. The e-mail links the traveler to a co-branded Continental Airlines/American Express Business Travel Web page where the check-in process can be managed. The new online check-in feature delivers a number of traveler productivity and time-saving efficiencies, such as the ability to proceed directly to security and bypass airport check-in.

“This co-branded airline/travel management company Web site expedites the check-in process for American Express Business Travel clients,” said Monisa Cline, Continental’s staff vice president of North America sales. “Corporate travelers will receive personalized flight reminders and be able to check-in and print their boarding passes before heading to the airport, allowing them to go directly to security and the boarding gate.”

“Continental continues to smartly leverage the direct distribution relationship it enjoys with American Express Business Travel to bring forward leading edge technologies for the benefit of our mutual clients,” said Andrew J. Winterton, senior vice president, Global Supplier Relations, American Express Business Travel. “We are excited to become the first global travel management company to integrate Continental’s innovative Web-based check-in feature into the American Express Online corporate travel booking experience.”
