AA celebrates 25 years flying to Cancun

American Airlines celebrates its 25th anniversary of service to Cancun, Mexico, tomorrow. “This is a significant anniversary for us,” said Peter Dolara, American’s Senior Vice President for Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America.

“American Airlines has offered service to Mexico for more than 60 years, and over the last 25 years we have greatly contributed to the development of Cancun as a popular tourist destination. It is our commitment to excel in our service to Mexico and to provide travelers with the opportunity to discover the beauty of this magnificent country.”

American inaugurated service to Cancun on Dec. 1, 1981, with non-stop flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Today, American operates four daily flights to Cancun from both Dallas/Ft. Worth and Miami International Airport, and one daily flight from New York JFK International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

American, a founding member of the oneworld Alliance, currently has fare sales in effect for Mexico and the Caribbean, which includes Cancun. Specific fares and terms and conditions can be found at www.aa.com/netsaaver .
