Travelzoo rolls out video series

Travelzoo is launching a weekly video series on its U.S. Web site in a bid to enhance its content and motivate subscribers to take advantage of travel deals.The first episode, titled “Travelzoo Unleashed,” features a hotel travel deal published by Travelzoo as well as “off the beaten path” visitor tips. A new Travelzoo video will be released every Friday morning and broadcast over the Internet.

“We are excited to debut this entertaining and informative online video content that we hope will motivate subscribers to take advantage of outstanding travel deals,” said Ralph Bartel, chairman and chief executive officer, Travelzoo. “As a leading Internet media company, we see this as an innovative way to provide relevant information to our users.”

The first episode was filmed on location in New York City and hosted by Jeff Gurtman, best known as the host of “Travel Spies” on The Travel Channel. The three-minute segment features New York’s stylish Paramount Hotel near Times Square. The offer published by Travelzoo directs users to a $199 per night deal including upgrade and breakfast.

Travelzoo’s videos will be hosted by Travelzoo staff, local and international celebrities. Travelzoo users will also have an opportunity to appear in the series. In upcoming episodes, Travelzoo will explore local traditions, obscure landmarks and provide travelers with “off the beaten path” suggestions for various destinations. Travelzoo will also highlight travel deals from its advertisers to feature in each episode as part of the online video series.
